Assistant Professor, Intelligent Drilling and Completions Engineering, Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering
The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Intelligent Drilling and Completions Engineering. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed upon date.

Position Description: We seek an emerging scholar with a strong background in intelligent drilling and completions engineering. The candidate should develop an innovative research program contributing to sustainable energy, including areas like hydrocarbon production, CO2 storage, and geothermal energy. The role involves supervising students, teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, and contributing to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Position Requirements: Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, a Ph.D. in a related area, have a strong research record, and teaching experience. They should demonstrate potential for high-quality research, funding acquisition, student supervision, and alignment with university strategies. Registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA is required.
