The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. At UC Blue Ash, we value the wide-ranging experiences and perspectives of those in our community, as well as the individual talents of our students, faculty and staff. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. The Department of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science (MPCS) currently has 31 full-time faculty teaching courses from developmental mathematics through calculus, differential equations, statistics, business analytics, as well as physics and computer science.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College Department of MPCS invites applications for up to three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Mathematics, intended to begin August 15, 2026. The American Association of University Professors serves as the collective bargaining agent for full-time faculty; see the Chapter's website (https://aaupuc.org) for details of the bargaining agreement.

Essential Functions

  • Teach full range of mathematics courses such as but not limited to Introductory Algebra, College Algebra, and Applied Calculus in the format of in-person classes, which may include evening courses, and some courses with online or hybrid options. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Class sizes normally range from 25-30 students.
  • Participate in the governance and committee work of the Department, College, and University. Examples could include, but are not limited to, departmental search committees, the College Technology Committee, and/or the University Faculty Senate Academic Affairs Committee.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in the discipline of mathematics and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning. Examples could include attending workshops/seminars/conferences, presenting at seminars/conferences, and/or publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Utilize the Canvas LMS, textbook-specific systems, and other relevant classroom technology.
  • Hold regular office hours to meet with students.
  • Assess student learning utilizing best practices.

Minimum Requirements

Prior to effective date of appointment, all of the following:

  • A Master's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field. A degree in a related field requires 18 graduate semester credit hours in Mathematics.
  • One (1) academic year of teaching experience in Mathematics at the college level as instructor of record.

Compensation and Benefits
