Assistant Professor of Accounting (Tenure Track)
The University of Montevallo (UM) invites nominations and applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting, with an anticipated start date of August 2026. A Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution is required. However, ABD doctoral candidates nearing completion will also be considered.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate and MBA courses in accounting, along with enthusiasm for scholarly engagement and mentorship of students from diverse academic and career backgrounds. Special consideration will be given to applicants with professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) or relevant industry experience.

• UM is Alabama’s designated public liberal arts university, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and specialist-level programs with a focus on high-quality, innovative teaching with more than 3,000 students.
• The Stephens College of Business is AACSB-accredited and supports both undergraduate and MBA-level programs. The average class size is about 21 students, underscoring our commitment to individualized learning.
• UM launched its first doctoral program in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.), expanding its graduate-level offerings beyond master’s and specialist degrees.
