Position Description
The Department of Information Systems and Analytics (ISA) in the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Analytics beginning Fall 2026.
The selected applicant will be expected to conduct high-quality research in supply chain analytics, leading to peer reviewed scholarly publications. Particularly, we seek Supply Chain Analytics scholars with strong expertise in applying Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) to their research. Additionally, the selected applicant will be expected to teach relevant undergraduate and graduate courses. Additional job duties include service at the department, college, university, and professional levels.
The ISA Department offers a university-wide undergraduate minor in Data Analytics and offers several degree programs, including the Master of Science in Data Analytics and Information Systems (MSDAIS), the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Information Systems, and a newly launched BBA in Business Analytics. MSDAIS has concentrations in supply chain analytics and Applied AI. Additionally, the department contributes to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programs.

This position is subject to the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must have earned Ph.D., D.B.A or be ABD from an internationally accredited institution with a business-related focus in supply chain/operations management, management science/operations research, and data analytics/data science/decision science. ABD candidates are expected to successfully defend their dissertation by the date of hire.
- The candidate must have an active business-related research agenda in Supply Chain Analytics.
- Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited business school.
- Supply Chain Analytics Research experience with AI, ML, Stochastic/Dynamic Programming/Learning.
- Experience in applied/empirical supply chain research.
- Previous teaching experience in supply chain and data analytics.
- Evidence of effective teaching (if any).
- Track record (or potential) for publications in peer-reviewed high-quality journals.
- Experience (or potential) in securing external funding and/or creating connections with industry.
