Advertised Job Summary: The faculty of the Philosophy Department at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a 9-month, full time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 16, 2025. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester, including courses in ancient philosophy to undergraduate students and to our graduate (MA and PhD) students. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct a research program in ancient philosophy that contributes to the department’s research strengths and to perform the usual departmental and professional service. We are especially interested in candidates whose research brings the wisdom of ancient philosophy to bear on current topics and issues.
