The Chemistry Program (https://ualr.edu/chemistry/) in the School of Physical Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biochemistry (R0078497) to start on August 16, 2026. The Chemistry Program is dedicated to high-quality, student-centered education and research at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The Biochemistry faculty will primarily teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in biochemistry, including special topics and laboratory sessions. The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a strong research program in biochemistry that is at least half bench / wet biochemistry; the Biochemistry faculty member may work closely with the Biology Department. Currently, the program has GC/MS, LC/MS, NMR, ESR, and other standard spectroscopic instrumentation available, along with gel electrophoresis and separation equipment. UA Little Rock also has high-level computational and visualization capabilities for candidates wishing to pursue theoretical and experimental research. Additional campus assets include spectroscopy and microscopy instrumentation in the Center of Integrative Nanotechnology Sciences (http://ualr.edu/nanotechnology/), and many faculty collaborate with UAMS, a medical research institute close by. Required Education and/or Experience: Ph.D. in Biochemistry (or closely related discipline). All Ph.D. requirements must be completed before employment commences.
Preferred Education and/or Experience: Candidate with postdoctoral research experience will be given preference. Experience in teaching Biochemistry and laboratory at the undergraduate and graduate levels is preferred.
