Overview
The Department of Biology at Providence College in Providence, RI invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 1, 2026. The department has outstanding teaching and research facilities including a vivarium, a microscopy and bioimaging suite, a cell culture room, a new spinning disc confocal microscope, autoclave, freezers, common use molecular equipment, and dedicated wet labs for student/faculty research.
Education and Experience
We seek candidates who will hold a Ph.D. in the biological sciences and preferentially post-doctoral experience. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain an active research program with original scholarship and to demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate students. The successful candidate should be able to teach Microbiology and other classes of their choosing, including but not limited to Microbial ecology, Genomics, Developmental Biology, Physiology, Cell Biology, Molecular Genetics, Immunology, and courses in their specialty area.
