Position Description
The University of Washington Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital has an academic anesthesiologist position available at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice. This is a part-time position with an anticipated start date of January 2026 or thereafter. This position is also not tenure-track and not eligible for tenure. Duties include the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students and the clinical care team. The successful candidate will provide pediatric anesthesia services. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, scholarship and service. The initial appointment period will be three years with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position will be $461,292 - $470,004 annually ($38,441 - $39,167 per month), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through the CUMG practice plan. Compensation provided by the CUMG practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Qualifications
Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and have a minimum of one-year fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric anesthesia. Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in anesthesiology and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. Visa sponsorship is not available for this part-time position.
