Assistant Professor of Conflict Management
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Conflict Management in the School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding, and Development with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teaching graduate courses in our master's and doctoral programs, such as courses in mediation, negotiation, conflict theory, research methods (quantitative and/or qualitative), and/or courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
- Teaching courses in a variety of modalities, including in an executive style program that meets on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Engaging in programmatic research that results in publication in refereed journals. Those on a research-intensive track are also expected to seek out extramural funding.
- Service to the School, College, University, and/or Profession.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD or the foreign equivalent, in conflict management, or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the university level, or comparable instructional experience in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated record of research and scholarship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience relevant to teach some courses in the MSCM and/or INCM program (for example, mediation, negotiation, conflict theory, research methods, organizational dispute and justice systems, organizational and workplace conflict, cultural aspects of conflict, technology and conflict, international development, among other areas).
- Practical professional experience or applied research in a relevant area.
- Experience in or potential for securing external funding.
- Ability to teach in different modalities, such as online, hybrid, face-to-face, and weekends.
