Assistant Professor of English (26-05)
Job Details
Francis Marion University and the Department of English and Philosophy invite applications for an Assistant Professor of English specializing in Professional and Technical Communication. This is a tenure-track position. Primary responsibilities will include teaching courses in UX writing and research, technical communication, multimedia writing, business writing, and first-year writing.
The successful candidate will have a research agenda in Professional and Technical Communication and a commitment to teaching business writing, technical communication, and first-year writing. Candidates are expected to excel in teaching and participate in a collaborative, team-oriented environment to recruit majors and participate in the ongoing development of the Technical and Professional Writing Program.
Francis Marion University (FM) provides generous travel support for faculty presenting research at scholarly and professional conferences. Summer research stipends are available on a competitive basis.

Requirements
A Ph.D. in Professional and Technical Communication or Rhetoric and Composition in hand by the time of appointment (although ABDs nearing completion of their degree will be considered).

Salary
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
