The Department of English at Wesleyan University seeks a published poet for a tenure-track appointment beginning July 1, 2026. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester in introductory through advanced workshops, as well as literature courses. The successful candidate will also advise and mentor students, help plan the reading series and undergraduate pathway in Creative Writing, participate in faculty governance at the departmental and university level, and be part of a growing, lively writing community. Minimum Qualifications: Master's in English, Creative Writing, or a related field; publication record in poetry will be reviewed.

Applicants will be asked to upload the following in four separate files: 1) cover letter; 2) curriculum vitae; 3) writing sample consisting of 25-30 pages to include both published work and work in progress; 4) documentation of teaching experience to include teaching statement, course syllabi, and student evaluations. Applicants will also be asked to submit the name and email address of three referees from whom we will obtain confidential letters of recommendation. As part of the teaching statement, we invite you to describe your cultural competencies and experiences engaging a diverse student body.
