"Part-Time and Limited Term Faculty Positions in the Department of English (Screenwriting)"

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of English for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Screenwriting (particularly FILM 3105 and FILM 3125). Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

To teach undergraduate courses:

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Screenwriting or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
• OR a minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
• OR a minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience with significant and noteworthy credits at the time of hire.

To teach graduate courses:

• A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Screenwriting or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant professional experience.
• Active in the field.
• Teaching and/or mentorship experience.
