Job Description
Ohio University Southern invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Nursing, non-tenure track faculty position for traditional on campus pre-licensure nursing instruction at the associate and baccalaureate degree levels. The position begins August 16, 2026, fall semester for the academic year 2026-27. This is a full-time, 9-month renewable position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating instruction using various methods and modes of delivery. Didactic instruction will be assigned based on expertise and credentials. Successful candidates may be expected to provide clinical site, laboratory, and didactic instruction to student learners for assigned nursing courses. Additional expectations include (but are not limited to): 1) Meeting with course faculty to develop course expectations. 2) Identifying students' needs based on objectives of the relevant course. 3) Providing instruction to students in the classroom, at clinical sites, and/or in laboratory/simulation settings. 4) Assisting students in using problem-solving techniques.
Service activities will occur within the School of Nursing, the College and/or Regional Campus, the University, and the discipline of nursing. Service activities will include, but do not need to be limited to, committee work, special assignments, active participation in professional groups, and relevant community activities. Participation in scholarship is not required. All School of Nursing faculty members are expected to collaboratively and actively engage in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student instruction and to participate in School of Nursing governance to ensure program standards and outcomes are fully met.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited school of professional nursing is required by the start date of appointment.
- An active and unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) or multistate RN license, or eligibility for obtaining and maintaining an Ohio or multistate RN license is required. Must have Ohio or multistate RN license prior to start date.
- A minimum of two years (24 months full-time equivalent) of work experience as an RN in the United States is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least five years' experience in the nursing profession and experience as a faculty member in an associate degree or BSN program is preferred.
- A doctorate degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.
