Job Description

Austin Peay State University's College of Business invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management with teaching and research interests in management or human resources to begin in August 2026. This position will be responsible for teaching required courses in the college's BBA and MBA programs, and courses in the college's management and human resources graduate and undergraduate programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• This position requires active teaching, research, and service related to the discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Possess the knowledge, talents, and skills in management and human resources in multiple teaching methodologies, including hybrid, flipped, online, and blended courses.
• Demonstrate respect for the diverse learning needs of students.
• Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement curriculum objectives and content for management and human resources courses taught.
• Demand and maintain high standards and expectations for all students.

Physical Requirements

• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of an earned doctoral degree in management or related discipline with appropriate research in management or human resources management (ABD will be considered if all requirements are completed by date of hire, August 1, 2026).
• Experience engaging students in a variety of experiential learning opportunities.
• Demonstrated potential to publish peer-reviewed research in B-ranked journals or above.
• Must meet the requirements for Scholarly Academic status under college policy and AACSB guidelines.
• Teaching philosophy statement.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the requirements of AACSB accreditation.
• A background search will be required of the successful candidate.

If the journal is not on the ABDC list, please note this. All publications will be considered, but preference will be given to publications listed on the ABDC list. In addition, please include any significant consulting projects.

If you have not completed your degree, please submit a letter from your committee chair with an anticipated completion date.

Each applicant must include the names and contact information for three references with your application. If you would like to additionally attach Letters of Recommendation to your online application, letters must be dated one year or less from the date of your application.
