Position Overview
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in surgical pathology, with a particular interest in thoracic pathology.
Required Qualifications:
- M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree
- Board certification or eligibility in American Board of Pathology, AP-only or AP/CP
Responsibilities
Teaching:
- Educate medical students, residents, and fellows in pathology and related disciplines
Clinical:
- Participate in the Surgical Pathology service with coverage of thoracic pathology services at Penn Medicine, including:
- Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
- Penn Presbyterian Hospital
- Pennsylvania Hospital and its affiliates
- Coverage may include:
- General frozen section service
- Autopsy service
- Night/weekend call
- Additional subspecialty coverage beyond thoracic pathology will be considered
- Primary practice site: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
Research/Scholarship:
- Develop an independent or collaborative research program in anatomic pathology, particularly thoracic pathology
- May serve as PI, Co-PI, or Co-I
