The candidate for this position will join the Economics, Business, and Accounting Department at Franklin College, which is one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing programs at the College. The department offers undergraduate majors and minors in Economics, Accounting, and Business with concentrations in Finance, Non-Profit Administration, Digital Marketing and Management.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Professor of Practice in Finance will teach undergraduate courses in finance and related business disciplines, advise students, and contribute to ongoing program development efforts. We seek an enthusiastic, student-focused educator who can connect financial theory to professional practice and is committed to innovative, effective teaching in a small, collegial liberal arts environment.
Teaching responsibilities may include Business Finance, Investments, International Business and Finance, Personal Finance and Public Policy, Principles of Risk and Insurance, and other courses as department needs arise. Franklin College prides itself on small class sizes, typically not exceeding 25 students. The teaching load for full-time assistant professors is 24 semester hours per year, with an Immersive Term course taught in January every other year. Summer teaching is optional. Courses are taught in person, and candidates must provide evidence of their ability to effectively deliver college-level instruction.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, hold a master’s degree, and have relevant professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a professional certification relevant to finance, including but not limited to CFA, CFP, FRM, CMA, or CPA.
