The School of Sociology at the University of Arizona invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice career-track position to teach and provide service to our interdisciplinary Care, Health & Society (CHS) program for the Fall 2026 Semester. The CHS program offers an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree that provides undergraduates with education, training, and applied experiences in the healthcare industry and related helping professions. The ideal candidate will have some non-academic experience in a health-related setting. This renewable career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure.

The responsibilities include: 1) being prepared and willing to teach seven courses per year on health-related topics like inter-professional care and the sociology of drugs and addiction; 2) supporting school leadership and program development in CHS; 3) running our small CHS internship program; 4) promoting student success; and 5) providing and expanding opportunities for professional training that will help students prepare for careers in the health professions.
