Position Overview

The department seeks instructors for Spring 2026 to teach:

  • Sociology/Anthropology of Mental Health & Illness
  • Social Problems (online)

Additional survey or upper-level courses may be assigned based on expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present course material
  • Create and post a course syllabus
  • Hold office hours and respond to student communications
  • Conduct and grade assessments in a timely manner
  • Submit final grades
  • Other duties as assigned (up to 20% departmental service)

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • University-level teaching experience highly desired

Preferred:

  • Prior teaching experience in sociology/anthropology or related fields

Special Instructions:

  • Include a syllabus for a course previously taught under “Other Documents”
