Job Description

Job Summary

SVSU invites applicants for a one-year temporary Assistant Professor in the psychology department for the 2025-2026 academic year, to teach face-to-face classes and lab courses. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate fully in department activities, including advising and supervision of undergraduate research/honors projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned PhD in Psychology from an accredited institution (ABD will be considered if the degree will be completed by the hiring date)
  • Demonstrated success in teaching at the university level
  • Demonstrated competence in experimental psychology
  • Have an active research agenda to which undergraduates may contribute
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in teaching General Psychology
  • Expertise in social psychology and/ or personality
  • Experience in teaching lecture and lab courses in Social Psychology and Theories of Personality
