Assistant Professor of Psychology
The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Newberry College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology to begin August 2026. The search is an open-area search; however, candidates with a physiological background are encouraged to apply.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teach undergraduate psychology courses, including introductory courses, social science research-based courses, and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
- Advise and mentor psychology majors.
- Contribute to service at the departmental, college, and community levels.
- Contribute to scholarly activities within the greater psychology community and specific discipline.
EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Ph.D. in Psychology (or ABD with expected completion by August 2026). Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to a liberal arts undergraduate education. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
