Assistant Professor of Psychology
Job Summary
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Psychology position to start Fall 2026. This is a full-time position with a nine-month academic year appointment in the Department of Psychology and Counseling within the College of Education and Psychology at the University of Texas at Tyler. The new assistant professor will teach courses and supervise research at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in psychological statistics and methods. The assistant professor should also maintain active research agendas, preferably incorporating master's-level students. They will also be expected to work collaboratively with department and college colleagues on service endeavors.

Required Qualifications
- Earned PhD in Psychology or a closely related field by August 2026.
- Candidates should also provide evidence of strong research and interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Candidates must demonstrate experience teaching in statistics/methods for psychology and/or behavioral sciences.
- Our program represents different specializations, including social psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and/or quantitative methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference will be given to those with training and experience with a record of research and scholarship, including external funding.
