The Orien Levy Woolf Division of Social Work at Texas Woman's University (TWU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor Tenure Track position, starting in Fall 2026. This position is based at the Denton campus, conveniently located 40 miles north of the bustling Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Division, offering both bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Work, is part of the School of Social Work, Psychology, and Philosophy within the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Position
The selected candidate will have a range of responsibilities including teaching both face-to-face and online courses, establishing a research agenda, mentoring and advising students, and contributing service to the program, school, university, and professional community. Other duties may include working closely with the Practicum Coordinator in the management of the BSW and MSW field education programs.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate a commitment to collaborative work. Additionally, the candidate should possess a proven track record or show considerable promise for developing an active research program and securing external funding.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
- A minimum of two years post-MSW professional practice experience.
- A Doctorate in Social Work or a closely related field is preferred.
- At least three years of teaching experience in a CSWE-accredited social work program, including the development and delivery of online and hybrid courses.
- Knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates currently pursuing a doctoral degree in a related field will also be considered.
- Experience working in or with university-based field education programs and/or academic administration.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent licensure.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
