Assistant Professor of Sociology
Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with research and teaching expertise in the area of New Social Movements.
Minimum Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who are quantitative researchers and able to teach Quantitative Research Methods and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Candidates must be able to teach courses at the introductory and upper level, specifically: Principles of Sociology; Sociological Theory; New Social Movements; the capstone research seminar; and the first-year seminar (non-majors). Demonstrated success or evidence of potential to excel in teaching and advising undergraduates is essential, as is ongoing scholarly productivity and institutional service. Evidence of a strong commitment to pedagogies that demonstrate the University's commitment to our varied student body is also requisite. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a compelling research program that is accessible to undergraduate student participation and collaboration. The position begins in August 2026, and a Ph.D. in sociology must be completed by then.
