Description

The Department of Chemistry at Rice University in Houston, TX seeks applicants for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. We seek faculty members who will develop a world-leading dynamic and innovative research program in fundamental science and who will excel in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, while embracing Rice University’s diverse community and culture of excellence.

We welcome applicants with expertise in Theoretical Chemistry, including but not limited to applications of statistical mechanics, biophysical chemistry, molecular dynamics, biological physics and modeling of materials and complex systems. Candidates must complete their application through Interfolio, the hiring system for Rice University. It is also expected that their research program will complement the existing experimental strength of the Department. A PhD in the chemical sciences or closely related fields is required.
