Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Pediatrics at CUMC

This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation’s foremost academic health science center’s working together with one of the nation’s premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Columbia University Irving Medical Center invites applications from well qualified MDs and MD/PhDs to join our faculty. We are seeking individuals with strong experience in Pediatric Infectious Diseases subspecialty, with an emphasis on epidemiology as well as infection prevention & control. We have a varied and exciting clinical practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Direct Infection Prevention & Control program activities and coverage.
- Lead meetings, develop and distribute protocols in Infection Prevention & Control.
- Advance research in epidemiological studies of infection and outcomes.
- Lead quality improvement project.
- Pediatric Infectious Diseases inpatient and outpatient care.
- Coverage of Pediatric Infectious Diseases care for transplant and immunocompromised patients.
- Participate in resident and fellowship education.
- Clinical responsibilities are shared among the members of the ID division and include daily rounding on a busy inpatient service with trainees and an ID-PharmD. We have a very active hospital epidemiology service and members of the division are actively involved in IP&C and antimicrobial stewardship. These activities include research, mentorship, and additional skill development. Our group is highly collaborative, working closely with colleagues in other sub-specialty divisions as well as with the epidemiologists and ID physicians throughout the NewYork-Presbyterian 9 acute care campus system.
Qualifications
- Must have a MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License
- Must be Board certified in Pediatrics or Pediatric Infectious Diseases or an equivalent board certification with experience in Infectious Diseases with clinical training in pediatrics.
- Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines

Salary
- Assistant Professor of Pediatrics ($195,000 - $203,216.22)
- Associate Professor of Pediatrics ($203,216.22 - $215,000)
