Assistant Professor, Political Science and International Relations
The Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of San Diego invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with expertise in international development starting in Fall 2026. Successful candidates will enhance students' understanding of international relations, including specialties such as international organizations, human rights, development policy, policy analysis, postcolonial thought, political economy, and sustainable development. Candidates must teach courses in their area of expertise and contribute to core requirements like Theories of International Relations, Research Methods, or Policy Analysis. A commitment to inclusive teaching, student advising at undergraduate and graduate levels, scholarly pursuits, and departmental service is required. The teaching load is three courses per semester.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Political Science (ABD candidates considered with completion by September 2026). Salary range: $7,000-7,333 per month with excellent benefits.
