Position Profile:
Applications are invited for an exceptional candidate in the area of Thermofluids in Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. The successful applicant will receive a probationary (tenure-track) appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful applicant will receive a probationary (tenure-track) appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Academic Expectations:The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering seeks an energetic and dynamic colleague who will be able to positively contribute to both teaching and research efforts in the area of Thermofluids, which includes Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer. While priority will be given to applicants with a strong background in experimental methods, applications will also be accepted from those conducting theoretical and computational research. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise graduate students and participate in other educational and professional activities including administrative duties within the Department, Faculty and University. The successful applicant will be expected to build collaborations with researchers both from within the department and outside of it.
Qualifications or Experience and Skills Required:
The successful applicant will have completed a PhD degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Materials Engineering, or relevant similar engineering field. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or clear promise of excellence in research. This should include evidence of high-quality scholarly output that demonstrates independent research potential leading to peer-assessed publications and securing of external research funding. Evidence of effective teaching at the university level will also be considered as the successful candidate will be expected to teach a diversity of introductory, fundamental or advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering. The ability to become eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is required for this appointment.

Compensation Details: $115,000 - $140,000
