The faculty of the Psychology Program at Missouri State University are searching for a colleague to join our vibrant and collegial academic unit. The position is for a tenure track, nine-month appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor. MSU has a Public Affairs Mission that is supported by the pillars of Cultural Competence, Ethical Leadership, and Community Engagement. MSU currently enrolls approximately 20,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students. The Psychology Program has (30) full-time faculty members, 60+ graduate students, and 800 undergraduate students.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about the use of student-focused pedagogy in the classroom to engage students in the learning process and will join a unit that provides students with access to high-impact practices aimed at increasing student retention, persistence, and success.

Responsibilities include teaching, supervising, and advising students in psychology, active engagement in scholarly research, and service to the program, school, college, university, profession, and community.

Potential courses to teach include learning processes and statistics. Other areas may also include developmental and motivation and emotions.

Qualifications:

• ABD or Doctorate in Psychology or related field.
• Able to effectively teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
• Able to lead a productive program of research.
• Able to mentor and support a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students.
