Job Summary:
This faculty member will practice as a member of the multidisciplinary teams in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) of the University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus of the University of Colorado in Aurora, Colorado. The CICU currently has two general cardiology and one advanced heart failure/heart transplant teams. As part of the advanced heart failure service, the faculty member will be expected to participate as an active member of the weekly heart transplant selection meetings and transplant discharge patient education.
The successful candidate will practice in partnership with other faculty at the School of Pharmacy. This faculty member will be expected to participate in innovative clinical practices in the CICU (50-60% time), which serves as a model site for student and resident training and affords opportunities for scholarly and research activities. In addition to clinical practice, the successful candidate for this position will be expected to provide classroom-based and experiential teaching and course direction within the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum, and to pursue endeavors that advance their professional development as an academician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in providing exemplary clinical care services in the area of Cardiology/Cardiac ICU and Heart Transplant.
- Provide quality teaching services in the School of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy program. Teaching includes preparing and presenting lectures and active learning sessions, precepting student Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs), evaluating student performance using various assessment methods, and mentoring and advising students.
- Serve as director for one or more courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
- Establish a scholarly program focused on a specific area of educational, translational, and/or clinical research. Scholarly activity includes conducting scholarly evaluations of clinical, translational, educational, or other activities, analyzing research results, writing original manuscripts that are published in peer-reviewed academic journals, and obtaining extramural funding to support research activities.
- Participate in professional service activities such as university or school committee work, participation in professional organizations, and attendance at seminars, conferences, special courses, and scientific meetings.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- PharmD degree.
- Must have completed PGY2 residency training in critical care or cardiology
- Board certification in critical care (BCCCP), cardiology (BCCP), or is actively pursuing board certification
- Must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an academic setting
- Previous experience working with Epic or Electronic Health Record system

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$126,247 to $137,220
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
