Located on the unceded ancestral lands of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation, the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa includes 75 professors in its Common Law Section and 35 in its Civil Law Section, 16 research centres and laboratories, and 19 chairs, thus providing an exceptional intellectual environment for students and researchers. • other activities stipulated in the collective agreement.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Canadian common law as well as a master’s in law (or in a related discipline); current master’s candidates will be also considered.
  • In addition to publication in peer-reviewed journals and the ability to offer high-quality teaching, an excellent academic record and the ability to contribute to university life could be considered.

Terms

  • New position - Replacement Professor.
  • Non-renewable contract for 2 years.

Salary

The salary for an assistant professor is $99,377 to $137,444 (according to the salary scale in effect May 1, 2025). We offer a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
