Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) - Counseling and Special Education (26-27)

The CACREP-Accredited Counseling Program at DePaul University in Chicago, IL is accepting applications for a tenure-track counseling position to begin in Fall 2026. We offer specialty areas in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. We seek a colleague prepared to teach graduate courses across the core counseling curriculum and to contribute to the profession through active scholarship and service. Our successful candidate also will support departmental and programmatic initiatives that create a culture of student engagement, critical inquiry, and the development of counselors as practitioners, scholars, and leaders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications Include:

  • Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited institution
  • Professional identity as a Counselor Educator
  • Professional counseling experience (Clinical or School)
  • Demonstrated record teaching graduate-level counseling courses at a CACREP-accredited institution
  • Established scholarship record and/or agenda
  • Membership and service in professional organizations

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Experience supervising counseling graduate students in a CACREP-accredited institution

General Compensation/Benefits Statement
DePaul University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the qualifications, education, experience, and training of the selected candidate, the scope and responsibilities of the position, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. The salary range for this 10-month position is $71,000 - $75,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
