Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Probationary
The School of Nursing invites applications from candidates for up to 3 tenure-track probationary positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2026.

Responsibilities and opportunities will include:
- Teaching undergraduate nursing courses.
- Contributing to curriculum development and program evaluation.
- Mentoring students and providing academic advising.
- Employing innovative and evidence-informed teaching strategies.
- Participating in accreditation and quality assurance activities.
- Developing and sustaining a program of research and scholarship.
- Engaging in interdisciplinary and community-based partnerships.
- Participation in departmental, faculty, and university governance.
- Contribution to professional and scholarly communities.
- Supporting the overall mission and strategic goals of the School of Nursing and Acadia University.
Academic Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have:
- An undergraduate/graduate degree in nursing (i.e. BScN, MN);
- A completed PhD or other Doctoral degree in a health-related field (preferred) or other relevant field; Master’s prepared applicants with a doctoral degree in progress may be considered;
- A minimum of five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse;
- An active practicing unrestricted RN license with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (or be eligible for) prior to commencement of this position;
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and mentoring students, with a commitment to ongoing development in this area;
- A commitment to nursing scholarship and research;
- Experience in theory-based classroom teaching.
