Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Teaching Professor who will lead a pilot project in the Engineering Department forming part of the Pathways to Inclusive Practice programme. This change programme incorporates recommendations from the Review of Teaching and the Review of the Approach to Provision for Disabled Students, as well as commitments made within our Access and Participation Plan (2025-29).

The 2-year pilot project will build a multidisciplinary team within Engineering to deliver a programme of work aimed at achieving our vision of "inclusive first" teaching. The role-holder will lead the project within Engineering and conduct scholarship work on inclusive practice. They will investigate evidence-based approaches to inclusion in Engineering Teaching and work to deliver a transformative framework for practice which can be implemented across the Department. The role holder will report to the Deputy Head of Department (Teaching) liaise directly with the Head of the Inclusive Education Hub (Education Services) and will, in conjunction with dedicated administrative support, work closely with the undergraduate teaching office team, and assigned staff from the Accessibility and Disability Resource Centre, the Blended Learning Service, the Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning and other University teams who may assist the objectives of the pilot.

Educated to PhD level, or with an appropriate teaching qualification, the successful candidate will have a background in STEM education at University or FE level. You will have a proven track record as well as academic interest and professional experience in the development of inclusive teaching practice in STEM.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
