Department: The College of Education within the Division of Academic Affairs is home to more than 1200 credential and graduate students. The College of Educations work focuses on closing the opportunity gap. The Colleges impact is notable given the fact that we credential the largest number of teachers of any public institution in the state of California and have the largest Ed.D. program in the CSU system. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant to the Dean, College of Education (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I). Salary Range: $5,274 - $5,878 per month
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs plus two years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful experience as an Administrative Support Coordinator and/or Administrative Analyst in the CSU system. Extensive experience in evaluating, developing, or enhancing CSU policies, procedures, or programs. Demonstrated experience leading an office that values belonging, mutual respect, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across units and divisions. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with a customer-service orientation. Demonstrated effectiveness in working with administrators, faculty, staff, and students with a high degree of integrity. Experience in planning and coordinating events and meetings. Experience in coordinating communications and engagement with external partners, including alumni, donors, and academic and professional community members. Experience coordinating and/or managing budgets, travel, procurement, facilities, and scheduling. Experience working with student programs, including those funded by Instructional Related Activities (IRA) funds. Experience mentoring staff and student assistants.
