Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Position Summary

MSU Athletics is searching for an assistant women's soccer coach to assist in all areas of running a highly successful Big Ten Women's Soccer program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in all phases of the recruitment of highly qualified student-athletes.
  • Identify, evaluate, communicate and develop relationships with coaches, recruits, and parents while adhering to all NCAA rules
  • Scout, game plan and communicate effectively within a highly competitive league.
  • Assist the Head Coach in practice planning and the implementation of training for maximum learning and progress of student-athletes
  • Work collaboratively with all members of staff.
  • Participate in all phases of a collegiate program including camp coordination and administration, academics, marketing, fund raising, social media, etc.
  • Utilize software used by Michigan State including Teamworks, Front Rush and other database systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach to support the women’s soccer program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience training goalkeepers at the collegiate or expert level.
  • Bachelors required
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit high level athletes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong commitment to academic goals and student athlete welfare.
  • Understand and contribute to the teamwork necessary within a coaching staff for optimal performance.
  • Ability to work well with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alumni, and staff.
  • Knowledge and adherence to NCAA rules, MSU regulations, and the Big Ten policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
