Position Summary
Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean, Clinical Education will be charged with developing and maintaining the clinical education for the osteopathic medical degree program and advancing innovation and transformation within and across the clinical education curriculum.
The role requires a deep understanding of medical education curricula, methods of educational delivery and assessment, knowledge of educational technology resources and infrastructure, as well as transformation and organizational change management principles required to shape and lead key efforts. This role will serve as a trusted subject matter expert for the COM and this individual must have a proven ability to demonstrate highly effective collaboration and teambuilding/teamwork across a variety of consistencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure availability of adequate clinical rotation capacity
- Oversee and maintain affiliation agreements for clinical rotations
- Oversee and maintain the clinical faculty database
- Oversee the clinical education department for rotation scheduling, rotation paperwork, clinical faculty, and assignment of CME to clinical faculty
- Visit and assess each clinical site, at least annually
- Provide feedback to each clinical site annually through the “Comparability Study Data”
- Work with the Student Services Team to ensure students have services to support their academics
- Support the COM Curriculum Committee with understanding and assessing the clinical curriculum
- Support Innovation and Ongoing Quality Improvement for the clinical curriculum and clinical curricular delivery
- Support the COM Assessment Plan for clinical education
- Oversee individual learner assessments throughout the clinical education program
- Assist with career counseling and support for COM students
- Assist with COM Accreditation
- Support Faculty Development, specifically the clinical faculty development program
- Participate in research and scholarship

Education, Preparation, and Training
- DO or MD with administrative experience of 5 years or more in an UME capacity prefer COM
- Demonstrated experience as an educational leader at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor
- Proven experience with accreditation processes for UME and GME
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interprofessional skills
- Active medical license without censure and maintenance of AOA or ABMS Board Certification.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Standard work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends required to support university events and activities.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with periods of high.
- Requires regular use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
- Some light physical activity may be required.
- Must be able to work collaboratively across departments and interact with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
