Position overview
ANU Advancement provides leadership and support across the University in developing meaningful and sustainable relationships with ANU alumni, donors and the broader community, securing long-term philanthropic investment and ensuring the strong management of existing philanthropic funds and accountability to the university’s donors. This is achieved through directing activity exclusively towards supporting, amplifying, and propelling the University’s vision, mission and strategic objectives, in service to its ever-changing priorities and areas of greatest need. The Associate Director, Alumni & Community Engagement is responsible for development and implementation of the Alumni and Community Engagement strategy and associated plans. The position will lead and manage ANU Alumni Relations programs, supporting over 150,000 alumni around the world, as well as Advancement Community Engagement which forms the foundation of the University’s engagement and fundraising efforts, with a program of targeted large-scale programs and appeals designed to build community, increase affinity with ANU, build philanthropic understanding, increase donor and alumni engagement and build our philanthropic pipeline.
As a senior member of the Advancement team, the Associate Director, Alumni & Community Engagement will work closely with Advancement colleagues, bringing particular insight, knowledge and advice related to alumni, community engagement, communications and program delivery. The Associate Director, Alumni & Community Engagement will focus on developing, implementing and advancing the mission and goals of ANU Advancement and the University, providing solutions and strategies that enhance the university’s engagement with the ANU community.
