Associate Director D, Research
Job Description Summary
The Associate Director D of Research will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Penn Center for Neuroengineering and Therapeutics. The Center is a collaborative translational research space focused on developing new devices, diagnostics and treatments that can restore brain and nervous system function after it has been lost to disease or disability. The CNT brings together clinician scientists and engineers to effectively bring critical technologies to patient care.
Job Description
The Associate Director will oversee daily financial operations, sponsored research administration, student and trainee administration, and core business processes, ensuring compliance with both University and School policies. The Associate Director plays a key role in supporting the Center's academic, educational and research missions. The position will report to the Director of the Center for Neuroengineering and Therapeutics
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience and skills in the following areas
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and comfortably with seasoned accomplished faculty, diverse groups of students, senior executives/professionals, and staff. With a demonstrated ability to cultivate and manage relationships professionally and with good judgment with a variety of stakeholders. Must have a high degree of professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams.
- Demonstrated ability to function both independently and as part of a team. Excellent collaboration and team building skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a degree and experience in the clinical and/or research space within Neuroscience or the life/health sciences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Position is contingent upon continued funding.

$79,500.00 - $89,500.00 Annual Rate
Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
