About the Role
The Associate Director, Innovation Platform (LPII) provides strategic leadership for Swinburne’s Learner Powered Industry Innovation (LPII) platform. This university-wide initiative connects education, research and enterprise to address complex industry challenges and deliver meaningful, real-world outcomes.
Aligned with Swinburne’s Ad Astra 2030 strategy, the role plays a central part in advancing Quantum Leap 3: Co-creating Future Industries. The Associate Director acts as a key link between academic expertise and industry need by establishing partnerships, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and driving measurable outcomes across work-integrated learning, applied research and industry innovation.
Working within the Innovation and Enterprise portfolio, the position is responsible for scaling the LPII model across the University. This includes ensuring strong strategic alignment, overseeing performance and maximising impact for students, industry partners and the broader University community.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Extensive relevant experience of leading and or managing transformational cross disciplinary initiatives or innovation labs in either academic or professional capacity
- Experience in designing and codifying key performance outcomes using enterprise systems (e.g. CRM and reporting platforms) to support transparent performance monitoring and strategic decision making
- Demonstrated leadership of interdisciplinary, industry integrated program design including international work integrated learning initiatives
- Demonstration of complex, significant, high level creative planning and program management including exceptional problem-solving, business development, business structuring, and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Design or equivalent proven management and leadership experience of academic and or business led transformation for experimental programs of work
