Job Description
The Harvard Law School Annual Fund is seeking an Associate Director who will be responsible for raising unrestricted support for the Law School's $14 million annual giving program. This position focuses on developing and implementing strategies to sustain its current success and provide future growth.
Working within a larger fundraising team, the Associate Director is responsible for overseeing reunion and non-reunion solicitations of annual unrestricted leadership gifts ($5,000-$250,000) and will strive towards increasing dollars, volunteers, and participation rates in assigned portfolios.
As Associate Director, you will:
- Work with the Director of the Annual Fund as well as Major Gifts staff to increase the level of unrestricted gifts of $10,000+ among alumni in both non-reunion and reunion years.
- Manage prospects in varied relationship stages including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, and be responsible for making 100-125 visits per year.
- Oversee assigned reunion class drives and manage reunion gift committees; recruit volunteers and solicit alumni; work with class leaders to develop and implement class fundraising plans, and individual prospect strategies.
- Collaborate with Prospect Development Research staff to support the qualification and identification of new prospects.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the department’s priorities; prepare key statistical and management reports as needed to monitor and expand Annual Fund programs.
- Performs other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 7 years’ experience in fundraising, advancement, or related fields.

Other Information:
This position is based on campus in Cambridge, MA. There is an opportunity for a hybrid/remote work schedule based on business needs and with supervisor approval.
This position is expected to be on campus to staff alumni and donor events as required. Must also be available to provide staffing coverage during end of calendar and fiscal year high volume periods.
Ability and willingness to travel and work some weekends and evenings as needed.

Work Format Details
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
