Associate Director, Student Financial Services
Job Summary
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Associate Director of Student Financial Services which plays a vital role in supporting the Director of Student Financial Services in the financial management and administration of student accounts.
This position assists in overseeing daily financial operations, payment processing systems, and accounts receivable functions while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The Associate Director provides leadership for staff, promotes exceptional customer service, and supports the use of technology to enhance the student financial experience. This role serves as a key liaison with campus partners, external vendors, and system providers to ensure accurate, efficient, and student-centered financial services.

The salary for this position is $82,225 minimum salary (minimum) up to $115,132 top salary being offered. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. In addition to salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and disability insurance and retirement. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or related field.
- Two years of progressively responsible experience in the management of comprehensive business systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Experience with enterprise administrative systems.
- Outstanding organizational and problem resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with faculty, staff and student populations.
- Experience leading teams or supervising staff.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that is supportive of the needs including universal access of our students, faculty, staff and the public.
Job Duties
Percent of Time: 60
- Assist in the management and oversight of day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and implement best practices.
- Administer student information system posting of tuition, fees, fines, housing costs, and other charges.
- Assist in the implementation and management of student tuition payment plans.
- Assist in the accurate disbursement and reconciliation of financial aid funds.
- Promote exceptional student service and resolve sensitive customer concerns.
- Contribute to maintaining a student-centric approach to financial services.
- Administer the collection of accounts receivable for the university.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of debt collection regulations and best practices.
- Contribute to the generation and analysis of financial reports to support decision-making.
- Represent Student Financial Services as requested by the Director in matters related to committees, boards, student organizations, departments, and external partners.
- Liaison with other departments on campus to promote cooperation, communication, and training.
- Provide functional oversight and administration of TouchNet systems, including uPay payment sites and the TouchNet Marketplace.
- Manage configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of TouchNet uPay sites and Marketplace storefronts to ensure accurate billing, payment processing, and compliance with institutional policies.
- Coordinate with TouchNet, campus IT, and third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure secure, reliable payment processing.
- Monitor TouchNet transaction activity, reconciliation processes, and reporting to support accounts receivable accuracy and audit readiness.

- Work collaboratively with the Student Financial Services office team to foster a positive work environment.
- Provide assistance and support to team members as needed.
- Train employees on regulations, policies and procedures related to their position.
- Develop performance objectives and criteria for employees.
- Develop and maintain an environment supportive of staff training and professional development.
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate direct report employees.

- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and institutional policies.
- Establish and implement policies and procedures that maximize efficiency and compliance with federal, state, and university regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to identifying and mitigating financial risks, implementing risk management strategies.
- Support the coordination and participation in financial audits, providing necessary documentation.
- Utilize financial software and technology to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial processes.
- Collaborate with IT staff in the implementation and testing of new upgrades, interfaces, enhancements, and patches for the accounts receivable and campus loan management systems.
