To add to our esteemed faculty, we are seeking an Associate Director, UG Admission at our Pleasantville, NY campus.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Director (Westchester Campus) works as part of the leadership team in the Office of Undergraduate Admission to develop strategies to recruit, admit and enroll academically qualified freshmen, transfer, and international students to enhance Pace University’s student body. This position oversees the daily operations of the Admissions team, ensuring efficient processes, effective student recruitment, and exceptional service throughout the student lifecycle. Reporting to the Director of Admission, the Associate Director of Admission is responsible for managing student application reviews, coordinating outreach efforts, and supervising professional staff and student workers. This role also serves as a key liaison with internal departments and external partners to support strategic initiatives, including admissions events, communications, athletics, academic programs and New Student Orientation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate teams. They will use data to inform decision-making and contribute to developing strategies that enhance prospective student engagement, enrollment outcomes, and overall institutional success. The Associate Director is responsible for managing a territory and thus heavy travel is expected. The position is based at Pace’s Westchester Campus but represents both the Westchester and NYC campuses and will be required to travel between campuses periodically.
Position Duties:
- Participates in the development of the overall strategic recruitment plan for first year and transfer students in conjunction with the Director of Undergraduate Admission and Dean of Admission and will manage the implementation of that plan for both the fall and spring semesters.
- Provides leadership and daily supervision to 3-6 full-time admission counselors and other staff as needed, and is responsible for training new staff.
- Assists direct reports in daily operations, territory management research/recruitment, application review, collecting data, preparing presentations and other projects as assigned by the Director of Admission.
- Acts as the admissions representative for designated US territories. Develops and manages recruitment territory by representing the University at high school and community college visits, college fair programs, on-campus and off-campus recruitment and conversion activities both in-state and out-of-state for those territories; 6-8 weeks of local and out of area travel required.
- Reviews and evaluates application credentials of domestic and international students and oversees the admission decision process.
- Reviews reports daily to ensure that the Office of Admission is on target to meet enrollment goals.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned by the Director and Dean of Admission.
- Collaborate with the Director of Admission to strategically develop and manage a comprehensive admissions event calendar that supports recruitment goals.
- Serve on inter-departmental committees and as the primary liaison between the Office of Admission team and various internal departments to develop recruitment strategies and to support the planning, coordination, and execution of New Student Orientation programs.
- Participate in the planning and execution of major on and off-campus admissions events, including Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, and other high-impact engagement opportunities.
- Responsible for partnering and building relationships with school counselors and transfer counselors nationwide to assist with the development of Pace’s enrollment.
- Provides the daily information session and presentation to prospective students and other visitors on and off campus
- Takes initiative to make meaningful recommendations that provide best practices and/or process improvements.
- Applies and maintains correct knowledge of laws applicable to the job duties of this position
- Consistently safeguards private and confidential information at all times
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master's preferred.
- Minimum of four years of work experience in admissions, enrollment management or related field.
- Previous work with transfer students and veteran students a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Knowledge of SCT Banner and Slate CRM a plus.
- Extensive travel required.
- Possible international travel. Some evenings and weekends required. Must drive and have a valid driver’s license due to required travel.
