Job Summary
The Associate Director plays a strategic role in enhancing student development and engagement by designing and executing educational initiatives, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and managing programs with data-informed approaches. This position is responsible for delivering impactful learning experiences, facilitating instructional sessions, and supporting outreach efforts with internal and external partners. A key aspect of the role includes leading structured programming that supports student growth and measurable outcomes. Assist in setting employee performance goals, contributing to performance evaluations, providing developmental feedback, and supporting compensation recommendations in alignment with departmental objectives.
Responsibilities
- Deliver credit-bearing instruction for undergraduate business students through the Career Development and first-year Business Seminar courses. Collaborate with the Director to refine curriculum in alignment with employer expectations, student development needs, and evolving market trends.
- Design and lead professional development programming including workshops, employer panels, and student-facing events while providing individualized and small group career advising on résumé writing, interviewing, networking, and job/internship search strategies.
- Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with corporate recruiters, alumni, and industry partners to expand internship and full-time employment opportunities for students. Collaborate with internal teams, including Career Services, Corporate Engagement, and Development to ensure coordinated employer outreach and effective tracking.
- Support the planning, promotion, and execution of employer-facing events such as company information sessions, speaker panels, and career networking events.
- Manage student-facing communications and resources by developing newsletters, event promotions, and employer outreach materials. Curate and maintain online career resources and toolkits tailored to diverse class years and career interests.
- Ensure timely posting of alumni-submitted job and internship opportunities on digital platforms and provide individualized career guidance to students as needed.
- Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of student engagement metrics, first destination outcomes, and program effectiveness data.
- Contribute to the ongoing assessment and continuous improvement of the Career Development course and related programming through data-informed insights.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience: Six or more years of relevant experience, including four or more years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications: Master's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
Preferred Related Experience: Familiarity with career services platforms; Experience teaching or co-teaching in a college setting; Comfort using data to inform decisions and report outcomes; Knowledge of undergraduate business education and/or the business recruiting landscape.

Position Overview
This position plays a critical role in student success by leading course development, instruction, and content delivery for two cornerstone courses in the Business Administration curriculum: MGT 3699 – Career Development Workshop (required for all juniors offered Fall/Spring semesters); MGT 1100 – First-Year Business Seminar (required for all first-year students offered Fall semester only).
