Associate/Full Professor of Engineering
Position Details
This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person.
The Department of Engineering at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the ranks of Full Professor and/or Associate Professor (tenure track or tenured). We seek two exceptional scholars whose research, teaching and thought leadership will advance the Mechanical Engineering program, which is currently in the planning stage. Preference will be given to faculty members in the areas of Thermo-Fluids, Machine Design, or materials.
The successful candidates will:
- Conduct transformative, externally funded research.
- Conduct excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Expand TCU’s reputation in Engineering by building innovative research and educational programs that address critical challenges.
- Enhance academic excellence by inspire and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and preparing the next generation of mechanical engineers, innovators, and leaders.
- Help shape the departmental growth and impact.
Candidates must have
- a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- A nationally recognized record of excellence and peer reviewed publications.
- A strong record of securing federally funded research and other externally funded research programs.
- A commitment to teaching excellence, mentorship, and engaging diverse student populations.
Department Details
The Department of Engineering in the College of Science & Engineering offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate program in engineering, with areas of emphasis in mechanical and electrical engineering. The department serves approximately 300 students and is supported by 13 dedicated faculty members with extensive industry experience and a strong commitment to teaching and student engagement. Emphasizing experiential learning, the program offers a year-long capstone senior design project, where students develop skills in communication, teamwork, and system-level thinking while solving real-world engineering problems.
