Position Summary

This appointment is in the Department of Computer Science with the potential for joint appointments in other CAICC departments. Candidates appointed at the rank of Full Professor will be designated as University of Texas System (UT System) Research Excellence Regents' Professors. The anticipated start date is Fall 2026.

The selected candidates will lead and conduct cybersecurity research in the College of AI, Cyber and Computing (CAICC), mentor early-career faculty, grow research programs, and foster collaboration across the departments in CAICC...

• A doctorate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related areas...
• Appropriate research and teaching record...
• Must demonstrate their ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of urban populations...
• The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a record of leadership in high-quality, collaborative research...
• This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Applicants who have demonstrated research excellence in AI Security are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Candidates must demonstrate a strong publication record and/or knowledge and experience in seeking and securing external research funding.
• The ability to obtain and conduct federally funded research that requires a top-secret security clearance is also preferred.
