Associate or Full Professor

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UT San Antonio), College of AI, Cyber and Computing invites applications as part of a cybersecurity strategic hiring initiative supported by the Regents' Research Excellence Program (RREP). This position is at the rank of Associate or Full professor but senior Assistant Professors with an exceptional record of excellence will be considered. The position will focus on the area of Cloud Security and Cryptography.

Position Summary

The selected candidates will conduct and lead cybersecurity research in the College of AI, Cyber and Computing (CAICC), mentor early-career faculty, grow research programs, and foster collaboration across the departments in CAICC. This position will be supported by the Regents' Research Excellence Program (RREP) and appointed in either the Computer Science or the Information Systems and Cybersecurity department (joint appointments across departments are possible). Candidates appointed at the rank of Full Professor will be designated as University of Texas System (UT System) Research Excellence Regents' Professors.

Required Qualifications

• A doctorate degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related areas... with specialization in cybersecurity...
• Must demonstrate their ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of urban populations...
• The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a record of leadership in high-quality, collaborative research and an excellent scholarship record of external funding.

Preferred Qualifications

• Applicants who have demonstrated research excellence in Cloud Security and Cryptography of cybersecurity are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Candidates must demonstrate a strong publication record and/or knowledge and experience in seeking and securing external research funding.
• The ability to obtain and conduct federally funded research that requires a top-secret security clearance is also preferred.
