Associate Professor, AC Track, Infectious Diseases
Job Description
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Open Date: Feb 20, 2026
Deadline: Feb 20, 2028 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include high quality teaching of CHOP fellows and residents, as well as medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
Clinical responsibilities may include providing coverage in one or more of three inpatient consultation services based primarily at the Division's Philadelphia clinical sites, including a service focused on children with general infectious diseases, a service dedicated to the care of immunocompromised hosts, and an attending-NP service currently focused on NICU and Ortho patients. Clinical responsibilities will also include seeing patients in New Jersey-based outpatient settings within the Division's busy clinical practice. In addition to our General Infectious Diseases Clinic, we have dedicated partner-clinics to provide collaborative outpatient care to outpatients with other underlying conditions, including malignancies, bone marrow and organ transplantation, and cystic fibrosis. A New Jersey medical license is required for this position.
Additionally, as CHOP expands its footprint in New Jersey and as the Division of Infectious Diseases partners with outside organizations, clinical responsibilities will also include providing inpatient consultation coverage in New Jersey-based clinical sites, including Virtua. Some local travel to New Jersey will be required. Experience working in remote community hospital settings is preferred.
Research Opportunities may be available in participation in divisional scholarship, education, clinical trials, global health initiatives, or fellowship leadership, depending on divisional needs and candidate interests.
