About the Role
This is a unique opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander academic to lead Indigenous Health education within the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University. As Associate Professor in Medical Education (Indigenous Health Lead), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering innovative, culturally responsive teaching across the Indigenous Health Curriculum. You will provide strategic leadership in curriculum development, educational innovation, and accreditation, while mentoring colleagues and engaging with communities and professional networks at local, national, and international levels.
- Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Indigenous Health Curriculum across the College.
- Provide educational leadership and mentorship to academic staff and students, fostering excellence in teaching.
- Contribute to accreditation processes and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with communities, industry, and professional bodies to enhance student outcomes and graduate employability.

You are a passionate educator and leader with a strong commitment to Indigenous health and education. You bring deep cultural knowledge, academic excellence, and a track record of innovation in teaching. Your collaborative approach and ability to mentor others make you a valued contributor to both the university and broader community.
- Proven excellence in tertiary-level teaching and curriculum leadership, especially in Indigenous health.
- Strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead academic teams and foster innovation in teaching.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience building partnerships across sectors.
