Associate Professor/Professor of Architectural Practice

Founded in 1918, the School of Architecture, Design and Planning is an internationally acknowledged centre for research in architecture and the built environment.
We seek to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor of Architectural Practice with an outstanding industry reputation to bridge architectural scholarship and professional practice. This is a continuing role of between 0.5 and 1.0 for a practitioner ideally holding a Principal position with an architectural firm.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintain reputation as a leader in architectural practice.
- Develop and maintain a sustained record of professionally relevant research or design work.
- Contribute to scholarly debate and innovation through design, construction, publication, and media presentations.
- Advance the architecture profession by combining academic scholarship with professional practice.
- Undertake leadership in educational innovation, curriculum design, and high-quality teaching, including supervising students in architectural studios.
- Lead or contribute to innovative curricula and programs to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Make an outstanding contribution to governance and collegial life, including administrative roles.
- Provide leadership in student learning, research, or professional engagement.
- Contribute positively to workplace culture and lead collaborations with industry, government, and community organizations.
About you:
- Postgraduate qualifications in Architecture.
- Hold an active Principal role within an Architectural firm.
- Demonstrated teaching ability and track record in architecture, including design studios.
- A critical experimental or research agenda related to the architectural profession.
- Established industry experience and profile for innovation.
- A strong network to maintain educational relevance.
- Demonstrated success in engaging with diverse stakeholders.
