Central Connecticut State University (Central) invites applications for two positions for Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Academic Affairs is a managerial position that reports to the Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs and will be responsible for providing transformative leadership aligned with institutional priorities. Specifically, one Associate Vice President (AVP) for Academic Affairs will oversee Graduate Studies and Research, while a second AVP for Academic Affairs will oversee program development, operations, and support student success.

About Central’s Office of the Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs

The Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs serves as the university’s chief academic officer and works collaboratively with faculty, academic leaders, and university administration to advance academic excellence and institutional priorities.

The Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs is responsible for supporting and advancing the University’s mission by overseeing areas, such as academic programming, academic support areas, program and curriculum development, and faculty affairs to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship. The office collaborates with the University’s colleges and schools, departments, and campus offices to uphold academic standards, support student success, and promote continuous improvement across all academic initiatives.

Education:



A doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution.

Experience and Training:


  • Seven (7) years of professional administrative and leadership experience in higher education administration including academic affairs, student support services, or enrollment management.
